In their place, we offer such options as BPA free composites, zirconia, ceramic, porcelain, and CEREC same-day restorations. Products and materials that will come into contact with our patients are screened for compatibility for the most positive outcomes. John J. Palmer, DMD
Dr. John J. Palmer graduated top of his class from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry in 1982. Since that time, he has invested his knowledge and skill into countless satisfied patients of Palmer Distinctive Dentistry, which he founded in Greenville, South Carolina. The practice was established with a priority of treating patients as unique individuals, and providing a comfortable and safe environment. This includes a commitment to gentle techniques by all caregivers, and the use of biocompatible materials for the health of patients. Patients of Dr. Palmer can rest assured that they have access to the newest and most advanced proven technologies that become available in oral healthcare.Dr. Palmer is committed to holistic dentistry. He understands that everything in patients’ mouths can play a role in their overall health. This leads to the use of carefully selected products and procedures that are effective, yet always in the best interest of patient health. The use of laser technology and ozone therapy in treatments to achieve exceptional outcomes with less invasiveness is just a couple of examples of the innovations offered in his practice. Another unique aspect of care offered in this field is the safe removal of amalgam restorations, which have been shown to be harmful to patients. To achieve this, tested and proven procedures are strictly followed, as established by the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology).
CEREC is also offered at Palmer Distinctive Dentistry. This incorporates the use of computers into the manufacture of precise dental restorations immediately within the dental office. Dr. Palmer was one of the first dentists nationwide to begin using this technology, starting in 1997. He has extensive skills and training in Comprehensive Cosmetic Techniques received at Baylor University, and other advanced training from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.
Dr. Palmer maintains membership in many educational and professional organizations.
- He is a Fellow and accredited member of The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. He is established in this organization as a national speaker, as well as a teacher of the Fundamentals of Safety Removing Mercury.
- He is board-certified as a Naturopathic Physician, and holds certifications from the American Naturopathic Certification Board, as well as the Board of Integrative Medicine and Dentistry.
- He holds memberships in the Omicron Upsilon Dental Honor Society, International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine, Holistic Dental Association, and the International Association of Mercury Safe Dentists.
Dr. Daniel J. Knause
Dr. Daniel J. Knause’s education includes a BS in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University in 2009. He received his DMD from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry in 2014, and joined Palmer Distinctive Dentistry the same year. His beliefs were already strongly in line with the dental practices utilized by Dr. Palmer. This collaboration of knowledge, along with his commitment to practice for overall health, is a benefit for his patients at Palmer Distinctive Dentistry. He considers it important to stay up-to-date on the latest in dental technology, techniques, and materials, in order to provide his patients with the most outstanding experience. His patients will enjoy the quality care they receive, as he believes in treating each one with the same consideration as he would give a family member. He is also dedicated to making sure that patients understand their health and recommended services before their treatment begins, so that they are able to make informed decisions regarding their care.Dr. Knause also has an extensive working knowledge of the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology) protocol to achieve safe removal of mercury fillings. He believes and practices holistic dentistry, as well, understanding that the mouth is the first gateway to total body health.
As a valuable team member, he understands and utilizes in-office technology effectively. Such services include CAD/CAM for crowns created in the office and the use of ozone therapy during procedures for improved outcomes.
